Flagstaff - Rest Day

I'm not too sure about these "rest" days.  While it's nice to take a day off, it's hard to fill the day with enough activities.

So, I had breakfast at the hotel, took a nap, went for a bike ride, cleaned my bike, went to lunch with some of the guys, took a nap...you get the idea.

My bike ride was to visit friends Sharon and Richard who have built a beautiful home north of town.  The house is drop dead gorgeous, very modern yet comfortable.  Sharon has horses and I got to say hello to India.  It was wonderful to see them if only for a short time.

Check out Richard's garage.

And Sharon's barn.

India.

The view out their front door.
Flagstaff is an old railroad town.

:56; 12 miles; 519' climb; 581 Cal.

Tomorrow we ride through Winslow, Arizona, made famous by the Eagles, on our way to Holbrook, AZ.

  2. Hope you were rested up - sounds like a long day but thanks for sharing the pictures of Sharon and Richard's new home. Great time at dinner last night for Mother's Day.
Safe travels today! We stayed in the breakaway all morning but will rejoin the peloton this afternoon...
