Topeka, KS, to St. Joseph, MO

Another day, another state line.  It took six days to cross Kansas - six wonderful days in a great state full of friendly people.  We are now in Missouri.  Last night, thunderstorms rolled through Topeka and the rain stopped just as we were leaving the hotel.  While we didn't get rained on, the roads were wet for the first fifty miles.  US 24 is heavily traveled and traffic was constant.  The terrain is rolling until you cross the Missouri River and head north on the bottom land.  We were treated to a wonderful ride along the SW Parkway in St. Joe - green, winding, very little traffic.  Oh, yes, the second SAG stop was at a Dairy Queen; I grabbed a chocolate milk shake before finishing the ride with Lori, Mike R, and Dan.  Today marks Lori, Heinz, and Brian's last day on the tour.  I didn't take many pictures today as their wasn't as much to see as yesterday.

5:27; 85 miles; 2,313' climb; 4,178 Calories.

Open carry in Kansas.

Another of America's castles.  We are in corn country, now.

More blooms.

  2. I check my time spent on my bike in 2009, subtract 30 minutes and know that you will have updated your blog. Still stronger rider than me.
