The first part of today's ride was on back roads between corn fields and woods. The roads were good, reasonably flat, and with little automotive traffic. Overcast skies, warm air, and a following wind made the day go quickly. Once we got into the outskirts of Indianapolis, traffic picked up and the roads narrowed. We had to take a detour due to construction but the CrossRoads crew guided us around the road closure. After the SAG stop, Dan I rode together and got to the hotel just after those two big dogs, Jack and Darrell. Darrell had a flat which contributed to the narrow margin at the end.

Strawberry festival in Crawfordsville.
There's something appealing about old barns. What stories they could tell.
This one's see better days.

One more with a couple of horses.

ReplyDeleteIs this the same construction from XC09 ?
ReplyDeleteI think it's continuing construction. Lots of new home tracts and many, many cars.
DeleteFast ride today! Glad to hear the conditions were in your favor. Ever wonder about taking a tractor across country?
ReplyDeleteI remember there was a fellow who rode his riding mower across the country...
DeleteSeeing these old barns and these small towns just tugs at my heart. There is so much still to see in our wonderful country. Glad you had good wind conditions today!
ReplyDeleteLove the old barns.
ReplyDeleteI love the tractors. When I was a kid in the corn fields of Illinois, we had an old Case. Red, of course!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Pamela.
